Christian Aid Week 2014: give people
a future without fear

War tears lives apart. You can help put them back together.

For a growing number of people across the world, the horror of war is part of daily life.

The good news is that individuals, communities and churches can make a real difference this Christian Aid Week. Last year, a magnificent 20,000 churches across the country helped raise £12m (€14.3m) for Christian Aid Week. Thanks to your efforts, many more people can look forward to a future free from poverty.

A Word From Our Wellspring Rep’, Tony Bartley:

Christian aid week has been regularly supported by Wellspring for many years. As we are getting older the pool of collectors has gradually diminished and we really need a supply of fresh volunteers! The organisation of all collections in Congleton is coordinated by Peter Houldsworth who divides the streets the town up according to each church and the availability of collectors, quite a significant undertaking!

As one of our collectors put it recently,

“I really don’t look forward to Christian Aid Week because I have to put myself out, usually in bad weather, force myself to knock on doors and overcome my natural shyness, but then I am brought face to face with why I am doing it. I am putting myself through a bit of discomfort for those who could only dream of my lifestyle, so it’s worth it and it doesn’t do me any harm to be reminded!”

There is still time to volunteer!
